The categories are broken into four specific sections to make it simple and easy to both contribute and understand the site.

Add Crime: This is to be used as a central location for Crime Activity Tracking. Crimes or Suspicious criminal activity should be listed here.  Some examples are as follows:

  • Add a homicide
  • Add a witnessed illegal activity. (e.g. Drugs are being dealt at the city park behind the swing set)

Add Criminal Group: This listing is intended to provide information on criminal organizations. Rather than focusing on an individual crime this section focuses on the criminal. It facilitates the exposure of tactics, techniques, and methodologies by these groups thereby making it harder for them to operate. Additionally, it provides the citizenry with information that will assist in minimizing their potential for exploitation by these groups.

Collectively this is a huge benefit to society. Even if an individual has a small piece of information to offer it can provide an immense help when aggregated with the collective pool. WTD will as appropriate consolidate information to help in the user end navigation of this vast and excellent repository.

Add BioHazard: This section is typically meant for those in the medical field to list and all to review. Non medical professional listings will be marked differently and the user can choose to filter those out if desired. This is to track potential or confirmed outbreaks and minimize the spread through rapid awareness and education.

Add Weather: The add weather listing is for use during severe weather events. This can range from localized tornado sightings to large scale disasters. We’ve broken the Weather event listing down to remain a very simple yet strong interface that includes four categories. Those categories are as follows:

  • Notices: This category represents the broad and generic information (eg. Hurricane forming in the Gulf…..)
  • Important Notifications: This category represents on the ground sightings and important information (eg. Tornado spotted….; Power down in …subdivision)
  • Need Emergency Assistance: This category is intended for those who need emergency recovery services (eg. trapped at this locations). It’s worth noting that our system will Geolocate your exact location and pin it to the map for you, greatly assisting in the recovery effort.
  • Area Cleared: This category is intended for recovery efforts by both volunteers and organized efforts. By marking areas or specific locations as cleared during a recovery effort it allows all in involved in the recovery effort a shared platform to help deconflict and provide a more unified recovery operation.

This is a question we receive a lot and one that has been looked at thoroughly to come up with an ideal solution. While our solution may evolve we feel we have an excellent process to do this.

This is a question we receive a lot and one that has been looked at thoroughly to come up with an ideal solution. While our solution may evolve we feel we have an excellent process to do this.

  1. All reports when created are sent to our staff who will do an initial review for spam or blatantly false information. Those listings will not be published. We believe we can facilitate this process from submission to posting in 15-90 seconds depending on report complexity.

Once published the community will greatly contribute to moderation. This is accomplished a number of ways.

  1. Users will have a “Report This Listing” link they can click to report bad information
  2. Users have the ability to rate listings via a 0-5 star system. This will help to establish a visual indicator of quality. Our staff will also continually scrub for low rated listing and in some cases delete poor postings.
  3. Users have the ability to comment on reports. This allows them to expand, clarify, detract, and refute information within the listings. This will be visible to the public.

Finally, We intend to heavily network with various organizations and authoritative agencies. Those that are vetted and verified will be allotted the ability to make immediate postings. Additionally their postings will have a ‘Verified’ sticker.
One particular instance where this will be most utilized is the Bio-Hazard listings. Medical Professionals will be clearly distinguishable from other posters in this category.
Another example of this would be a police department issuing an Amber alert or On the Run and Dangerous report on an individual.
