    A local couple is charged in connection with a pair of armed robberies along U.S. 84 West on Tuesday

    The Houston County Sheriff’s Office arrested XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX, 28, of Green Valley Road on first-degree robbery charges stemming from the armed robbery of Bay Springs Market after he was brought in for questioning late Tuesday, said Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza.

    “Later that night two different residences were searched,” Valenza said. “We retrieved firearms, several pieces of merchandise, and some cash. We have not located the entire amount of cash taken during the robbery at this time.”

    A BOLO issued for the U-Haul truck after the robbery, and Valenza said his officers have impounded a U-Haul they believe was used as the getaway vehicle during the robbery at Bay Springs Market.

    During the investigation, investigators with the sheriff’s office and investigators with the Dothan Police Department worked together to determine XXXXXX  was also the suspect of the Tuesday morning robbery at the Shell Station in the 5800 block of West Main Street.

    Dothan Police investigators determined during questioning that XXXXXXX  girlfriend, XXXXXXX 28, was an accomplice in the Dothan robbery. XXXXXX  was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery; one count by the Dothan Police Department, and one count by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Conard was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery in connection to the Shell Station robbery.
