    Gunfire at a weekend field party in Geneva County left an Opp teen with a gunshot wound, and two others under arrest.

    Matthew Oberley, 20, of Panama City Beach, is charged with attempted murder. He is awaiting extradition from Panama City to Geneva County Jail.

    Anthony Carter, 19, of New Brockton, is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment for allegedly firing a weapon into the air. He is being held at the Geneva County Jail.

    The incident took place near Hartford, according to Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms.

    “At this time we know a fight broke out between two individuals, and while the fight was going on, another individual attending the party pulled out a firearm and shot the weapon,” Helms said. “One individual suffered a gunshot wound.”

    The victim is a 17-year-old boy from Opp.

    Case is still under investigation…all parties are innocent until proven guilty in court of law.
